  20. This software in not FREE nor is it PUBLIC DOMAIN. It is a complete,
  21. full featured, fully functional, not crippled in any way, no built in
  22. delays ( other than a 5 second delay in un-licensed copy upon exiting
  23. the program ), professional quality, single entry bookkeeping system
  24. copyrighted by Emerald Coast Software of Panama City, Florida.

  26. You may try it out at no cost, but if you like it and decide to continue
  27. using it beyond a reasonable time, then you must license it at a cost
  28. of $17 per computer.

  30. Registration will bring you your registration number and code that when
  31. entered into the software will remove all notices of "Un-licensed" and
  32. the five second delay upon exiting the program.
  33.  
  34. On screen registration notice will state that the software is registered
  35. to your company.
  36.  
  37. If you are in a hurry and have mailed your registration fee, you may call
  38. me on the telephone and if I have received your registration fee, I will
  39. give you your registration number and code.

  41. Registration will also bring you unlimited telephone support for a period
  42. of up to one (1) year from date of registration.

  54.       Some possible enhancements to be made on future versions are:

  56.       Change to a 3 digit account code.  You will be able to use your
  57.            existing files. I will furnish a conversion routine to
  58.            convert your existing 2 digit code to 3 digit.

  60.       Add the ability to enter your assets, etc. so that you will be
  61.            able to see at a moment's notice, your net worth.

  66.       Registered Customers with out additional charge so don't delay your

  83.       Added a feature that allows your configuration information to be
  84.       saved in your main file "BOOKKE.EXE".
  85.  
  86.       If you have an existing "BOOKKE.CFG" file, you should delete
  87.       it from your directory.  You will no longer have need for a
  88.       "BOOKKE.CFG" file.

  90.       In order to change the data drive, company address, etc. you will,
  91.       however, have to be in the same directory as "BOOKKE.EXE".
  92.  
  93.       If you follow the information provided below, you may run Bookkeeping
  94.       Made Painless from any directory or subdirectory in your system.

  96.       Make a BATCH file in the root directory ( or a directory in your "path"
  97.       as listed in your "autoexec.bat" file ) called BOOKKE.BAT as follows:
  98.       DO NOT enter the quotation marks ( "  ).
  99.  
  100.       Type from dos prompt >  "EDLIN BOOKKE.BAT"    and press <enter>.
  101.       Type the letter "I"    and press <enter>.
  102.       Type in the following:
  103.  
  104.               "CD C:\BOOKKE"     and press <enter>.
  105.               "BOOKKE"           and press <enter>.
  106.               "CD\"              and press <enter>.
  107.  
  108.       Now, press the <Ctrl> and <Break> keys at the same time.
  109.       Type the letter "E"   and press <enter>.
  110.  
  111.       Meaning:
  112.       The first line means - CHANGE DIRECTORY (CD) automatically to the
  113.       DRIVE (C:\) and Directory (BOOKKE) in which you have the main file
  114.       "BOOKKE.EXE".
  115.  
  116.       The second line is the name of the main file "BOOKKE.EXE" of
  117.       Bookkeeping Made Painless.
  118.  
  119.       The third line will return you to the main root directory when you
  120.       exit Bookkeeping Made Painless.
  121.  
  122.       By using the above Batch file, you will not have to worry about
  123.       being in a certain directory if you change your data drive, etc.
  124.       You will automatically be changed to the correct directory when
  125.       you start BOOKKE.
  126.  
  127.       You must have a "PATH" statement in your "AUTOEXEC.BAT" file in
  128.       your root directory.
  129.       Example:  "PATH C:\"  or  "PATH C:\BOOKKE" or "PATH C:\;C:\BOOKKE\"

  131.       "PATH C:\"            -  The directory where "BOOKKE.BAT" is located.

  135.       Bookkeeping Made Painless may now be run from any directory or
  136.       subdirectory in your system by typing BOOKKE and pressing <enter>.

  138.       You should go directly from the Main Menu to the Setup Menu and
  139.       press "B" to enter your company information, data directory, etc..

  142.      Added a DOS Shell - with 640 RAM you will have approximately 180kb
  143.      of memory in which you may run an external program and when finished,
  144.      type "EXIT" and press <enter> to return to Bookkeeping Made Painless.
